The Diocese of Colorado Springs serves an area in east central Colorado that runs from Cheyenne and Kit Carson Counties in the east to parts of Lake and Chaffe Counities in the west. The Diocese is comprised of 37 parishes. At present there are 14 young men under formation in the Diocese of Colorado Springs.

Since the Diocese of Colorado Springs does not have it's own Seminary the fourteen Seminarians are spread though a variety of Seminaries. Four of the Seminarians attend Seminary at St. John Vianney in Denver, four at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary in St. Louis, and four at St. Gregory the Great College Seminary in Nebraska.

Bishop Sheridan has Connection to the Kenrick-Glennon Seminary both as a teacher and as his time as Auxiliary Bishop of St. Louis. Kenrick-Glennon Seminary does not have the age restriction that St. John Vianney does so while the number of younger seminarians that are attending St. John Vianney continues to move up the men who discern a calling to the priesthood once they enter their thirties or later are likely to attend seminary at Kenrick-Glennon.

The St. Gregory the Great Seminary is a college seminary and this any men who discern a calling to the priesthood prior to receiving a college degree are likely to attend St. Gregory the Great.
